Privacy Policy

Short version: UtterDo does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything happens on your Mac.

No data collection

UtterDo processes your voice and text input entirely on your device. Speech recognition and AI intent extraction run locally using on-device models. No audio, text, or personal information is ever sent to any server.

No accounts

UtterDo does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information. There is no user registration system.

No analytics or telemetry

UtterDo does not include any analytics, tracking, telemetry, or crash reporting. We have no way to know how you use the app, and that's by design.

No network access

UtterDo does not make any network requests during normal use. The only time the app accesses the internet is if you choose to download an optional Whisper speech recognition model from the settings page. This download goes directly to Hugging Face's model repository and does not pass through our servers.

Local storage

Your calendar items, todos, and reminders are stored in a local SQLite database on your Mac. If you enable Apple Calendar or Reminders sync, UtterDo uses Apple's EventKit framework to create events and reminders in your system calendars — this data stays within Apple's ecosystem on your device.

System permissions

UtterDo requests the following macOS permissions:

• Microphone — for voice input (processed locally)
• Speech Recognition — for Apple's on-device speech recognition
• Calendars — to sync events to Apple Calendar (optional)
• Reminders — to sync reminders to Apple Reminders (optional)
• Notifications — to send reminder notifications (optional)

All permissions are optional. You can grant or revoke them at any time in System Settings.
